Grant Program

The COVID-19 pandemic caused unprecedented challenges and interruptions to businesses nationwide. To assist the economic recovery of the area, the City of Pearland and Pearland Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) have partnered with LiftFund to launch the City of Pearland Small Business Recovery Grant Program. The goal of the program is to help a diverse group of small businesses in the city of Pearland that have suffered an economic loss as a result of the pandemic and need funding to continue to sustain operations.
The City has dedicated $800,000, a portion of the funds it received from the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), to small business recovery grants and funds to be distributed beginning November 2020.
In addition to the grant funding, as part of this program LiftFund will offer business consultation services to ensure small business owners receive the support they need to pivot and overcome the business challenges they are facing due to COVID-19.
Only one grant per business owner is permitted. Different applications for multiple businesses with the same business owner will be declined.
Grants awarded for City of Pearland Small Business Recovery Grant Program will range from $1,000 up to $15,000 per business. Businesses may apply for the following expenses associated with maintaining business operations: working capital, payroll for job retention or expansion, rent/mortgage for business location, utilities and other general operating expenses.
The fund is not first come first served. All applications will be reviewed based on stated and verified business information and business operations. A lottery will be conducted if the funding requests exceed the fund amount.
All documents must be provided in order for the application to be considered complete. Any applications submitted without documents or incorrect documents will NOT be considered. Applicants have the ability to upload the documents securely and safely through the online application.
